  • Water-resistant 700-fill DownTek™ insulation on back of hand
  • Megaloft® synthetic insulation at palm
  • Moisture-wicking lining

AquaBloc AquaBloc® is our proprietary waterproof, windproof, breathable technology. Engineered exclusively for hand wear, our seam-sealed AquaBloc inserts allow moisture molecules to escape without letting water molecules in. It is the best of both worlds: let your sweaty hands breath while staying warm and dry.
Downtek® DownTek™ Water Repellent Down is down that has been treated with water-repellent-nano-treatment. A proprietary application method instead of a bath treatment is used, thereby eliminating waste run-off.

Warm Hands! Warm Heart!!

We purchased a pair of these gloves here in Fairbanks for my husband. We bought the Large size because there were no XLs. Getting this XL pair allowed me to bogart his L pair. Now, we both have warm hands. This is the first time in quite a few years that my husband’s hands have been warm in our Alaskan winters.

Warm and High Quality

This is my second set of Polar Mitts. The first pair lasted two to three full seasons of skiing once to twice per weekend in the northeast. This pair is of equal quality and I expect them to last every bit as long, if not longer, than the first pair. I'm not kind to these mittens. The leather weathers the elements well, aside from the days where it's really wet. Having said that, these mittens live up to their name and really shine in below freezing temperatures where they do an unparalleled job of keeping your hands warm. They far exceed the warmth of my previous pair of gloves from a different manufacturer that were much more expensive.

First impression

As this is the end of April, I will not have the opportunity to put these new mitts to the test for a while so I cannot comment as to their warmth. My initial impression is that they are well-made out of quality materials. The only complaint I would have is the sizing. I ordered according to the measurements online and would say they feel small, not enough that I am going to return them, but you may want to think of ordering up if you’re between two sizes.

Good Quality & Insulation. Run small.

Gordini Polar II Mittens. My understanding is they are mainly the same as the newer Polar Mittens. Quality and insulation levels appear very good. Gordini gloves and mitts tend to run small. I normally take an XL but found this a little short with my fingers pushing some against the end. I returned them. Thereafter I purchased an XXL. It was still a tad short but OK and am keeping them. Have not used them outdoors yet so cannot comment on waterproof aspect.
One thing I do like is compared to some other mittens I have they are not overly bulky for the insulation level which makes them easier to use with straps on my hiking poles.
