Even with mittens and heat packs my fingers tend to get really cold during skiing or hiking. After hearing about so many good reviews, I bought them and agree with all.the reviews. Warm and water proof! Made my hikes in the Adirondacka so much more.enjoyable.
I wore these mittens during the descent on a recent 4000’ hike in the New Hampshire White Mountains.I was able to stay warm as it got dark and my hands didn’t get cold on the many butt slides down the mountain. I did add hand warmers but I’m never able to hike in the winter without hand warmers. These are my new ‘go to’ winter mittens.
I have Reynaud's disease and have struggled my entire adult life to find gloves or mittens that keep my hands from going numb in even modestly cold temps. I got to test these Foundation Mittens out last weekend at a ski resort in northern Maine -- temps were in the mid-teens -- and for the first time EVER my fingers didn't go numb or start hurting from the cold, even after several hours outside. I highly recommend these mittens!!
